Job Description:

J&L Laboratories has an opening for an internship at our oilfield laboratory in Midland, TX. The ideal candidate would be responsible for performing basic laboratory duties that include but are not limited to bacteria analysis, water analysis, and general laboratory housekeeping.

· Analyze water for ATP and Total Coliforms/E. Coli

· Perform pH, conductivity, specific gravity, and dissolved gas titrations on water samples

· Learn how to use various laboratory apparatus such as pipettes, titration dispensers, pH and conductivity probes, and a densitometer

· Assist Laboratory Manager as requested in office and in laboratory

· Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile reports as needed using Excel and our laboratory information management system (LIMS)

· Show initiative and take ownership of training

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Progress towards bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Geology or other science related field

· Good Data Management Skills (Excel and/or Other Reporting Packages)

· Safety oriented for work in laboratory environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Ability to multi-task

· Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)

· Strong technical skills in information systems

· Desire to learn oilfield chemical laboratory operations
